Mary Rutherfurd Jay collection, 1905-1945.

Personal and professional papers consist of a photograph album, notes, research materials, writings and scrapbooks, primarily related to international gardens. Project records primarily contain architectural drawings and photographs. Drawings include sketches, plans, planting plans and designs for garden furniture and structures. Also contains horticultural plant cards and a plaque about her collection from the Reef Point Library.

Mary Rutherfurd Jay (1872-1953) studied architecture at MIT and at Harvard's Bussey Institute. She considered herself a garden architect, opening her practice in New York in 1908.
